My Story

Lindsey was 15 months old when she was diagnosed with ALL. She went through 2.5 years of treatment and was only clean for 3 months when she relapsed. She needed a bone marrow transplant and her brother Tyler was found to be her "perfect match". In January 2003 he donated his marrow to save her life. Tyler was in 2nd grade! Lindsey needed every bit of spunk to get through her chemotherapy treatments. Today she is a healthy 13 year old. Lindsey was diagnosed in January of 2010 with Type 2 Diabetes as a result of the steroids given to her during her treatment. This has been the only health hurdle she has encountered since finishing her treatment regimen. Lindsey is a bright girl who puts forth effort in everything she does. Even though she struggles academically, she keeps a positive attitude. She likes to hang out with her friends, play the clarinet, and play tennis. Lindsey also enjoys playing with her dog Trixie, a schnoodle.
