My Story

Jenai is an amazing young woman who is finishing her jr. year in college. She was a mere 21-month old baby when she was dx in 1992. She suffered with a terrible fungal infection for the first 7 months of her dx. It was horrible and extremely life-threatening. She fought for her life and amazingly by the grace of God made it through nearly three yrs of treatment. As we fought for her life we tried to establish a new sense of normalcy. We have done really well. I won't lie and say it was easy...it was heartwrenching. My heart is forever worrying about her. Sometimes I am sure.... making her crazy! Her being so far away from me now makes it more difficult. She has been a camper since the age of seven at the kids cancer camp here, and has now been a counselor for the past 3 years. Giving hope to other children and their families a huge part of who she is. She makes her family very proud of her....as her mom...just the thought of her and her journey can have me crying for hours. I hope and pray that no other mom ever has to feel the pain of your child being dx with cancer. I pray that in my lifetime we find a cure...no one should suffer...
