My Story

Kaitlyn is a happy, caring, and incredibly brave 8 year old girl. She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 3 and a half and finished her chemotherapy shortly before her 6th birthday in 2009. In August 2010 she relapsed and received a bone marrow transplant in December 2010 from her younger sister. Kaitlyn bounced back quickly from transplant and was back to school and enjoying spending time with her friends and family and playing soccer. In November 2011, our family received the devestating news that Kaitlyn had relapsed for a second time. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy again and will receive a second transplant. Kaitlyn has endured way too much in her short life, but she always has a smile on her face. She loves to play with her younger sister. They enjoy playing with their horses, American Girl Dolls and Barbies. Kaitlyn also enjoys doing arts and crafts, playing soccer and gymnastics. Kaitlyn's bravery is truly an inspiration for us all.
