My Story

Micayla is a straight A student who is kind, loving, and loves to babysit! She loves reading, artwork, and her new I Touch that she saved up for by herself. She is a wonderful daughter and we are so very proud of her. She was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia when she was 7yrs. old. She has fought this terrible disease with such a sense of grace. Once when she witnessed a woman being mistreated at a McDonald's because of her near baldness, evident port, and sickness, Micayla pushed to the front of the line and proceeded to tell the employees that they should be ashamed of themselves for being so mean! I cried in pride for this beautiful soul that has survived so much. Micayla has been in remission for almost 6 years and the doctors declared her "cured" this past July. She has also survived the removal of two brains tumors in her left frontal lobe. She is such an amazing soul and we are incredibly proud of her!
