My Story

Sarah was diagnosed at 6 1/2 years and in Kindergarten. We called her our "hotel girl" because she loved traveling just because we stayed in a hotel. I think she liked that we were all in one room together like a slumber party. She enjoyed gymnastics and joined Girl Scouts as a Daisy before she died. She loved Barbie movies. Most of all she loved playing with her older brother and sister. One time they were playing dentist and Sarah was the dental assistant and her sister the dentist, when they pulled out their brother's tooth. She had a good sense of humor and thought that was super funny. Sarah loved to dance around the house and sing songs. She became very fond of Barney during her "couch days". She would laugh that her brother knew all the songs and little dances. He was five years older than her and we didn't watch much Barney by the time she was born because we were sick of it. She would always hug me and kiss me right on time during the "I Love You" song. Sarah loved eating cinnamon on her toast and loved pasta with Paul Newman's Italian dressing. She picked purple to paint her room. She was a blankey baby and always had her white or pink blankey close. It brought her a lot of comfort. She liked to rub it on her face and make this sucking movement with her mouth. Her lovey was Poe from Telletubbies and she drew on his (or her?) face. Poe's tummy lighted up for awhile. I promised her we would take care of Poe and blankey for her.
