My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.

On December 21, 2005 I was diagnosed with a Wilms' Tumor (nephroblastoma - kidney cancer). I went to Children's Memorial Hospital only two days later for a radical nephrectomy of my left kidney as well as removal of a football sized tumor and some inflamed lymph nodes. Pathology confirmed I had a Wilms' Tumor Stage 3 with a favorable histology. I received my first chemotherapy treatment on Dec.29th and continued receiving treatments every week for 9 weeks and then every third week after that for another 4 months. I also received 6 rounds of radiation treatments. I am happy to say that I am now considered "cured" as of June 2011. In June of 2019 I graduated from high school and I am currently a mechanical engineering student at MSOE.
