My Story

Lexi is just like every other 3 year old girl who loves to play with her baby dolls and teddy bears except for one thing, she is fighting cancer. Lexi was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in November 2009. Lexi fell down at home on a Friday and began limping the next day. Doctors obtained x-rays assuming she had just bruised a bone, the x-rays were negative. Each day after the fall Lexi's walking became worse and one week after falling on Friday 13th her doctor obtained some blood work only to discover she had cancer. Lexi's life has since then changed. She has began chemotherapy treatment and is doing remarkably well. Lexi has adjusted well with having to be in and out of the hospital when she has a fever or cold. Lexi is a fun-loving typical 3 year old who loves playing with her Dora the explorer dolls, watching cartoons and playing games on the computer.
