My Story

After complaining for several weeks of a "tummy ache" Amy's mom decided it was time to get Amy a check up. The family pediatrician found something unusual and suggested we might want to go to a G. I. doc near downtown Denver. Andrea (Amy's mom) wasted no time in confirming an appointment for a few days later. This doctor saw something he didn't like on the x-ray, ordered an ultra-sound, became further concerned and ordered a CAT scan. Following that he informed us he was calling in an Oncologist and our hearts sank. Two more days of tests and finally surgery confirmed our worst fears, Amy was immediately admitted to the hospital and chemotherapy began on Saturday the 28th of Feb. Our sweet little daughter is in for a tough long fight but she will win. We have wonderful doctors and fine facilities here in Denver. Many people both in the medical field and out have told us that if their child were sick, the doctors we have would be the ones they would want. Amy is a dear child with many friends and a wonderful family spread around the country. She has already received an out pouring of love the likes of which I never expected, and frankly I was overwhelmed. With friends help we are sorting through this and we will bring Amy home and see her through this fight. She will win.
