My Story

Ava was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in her right eye on February 10, 2009. On February 12, 2009, Ava's right eye was enucleated due to the tumor taking over 80% of her eye. Ava is a strong and energetic little girl. Ava is always on the go and we've been told she gets that from her Dad. On February 26th, we learned that Ava does not need chemotherapy and as of now is CANCER-FREE. We could of never have gotten through this difficult time without all the support from all of our family and friends. We also would like to thank the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at Children's Memorial. They are the most caring and professional people we have ever met. Though we have to go back to Children's for check-ups and exams, we know she is in the best hands she can be.
