My Story

Katie is a bubbly, artistic, athletic nine year old. She has many interests and talents including tennis, guitar, art and dance. She was enjoying her last week of summer vacation in August of 2007 when a low grade fever led her to the pediatrician and later to the hospital. The diagnosis was ALL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since that time, Katie has been able to make the best of a difficult situation. She is grateful for the support of her friends and neighbors and is especially fond of her caregivers at Brenner Children's Hospital.
August 2017 will mark 10 years since Katie's cancer diagnosis. She is currently studying human biology and North Carolina State University.

The Childhood Cancer Ripple Effect

Help kids take childhood back from cancer — support lifesaving cancer research today.

Children who are fighting or have fought cancer inspire others to be part of the Foundation's mission — to support the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
