My Story

Robert has always been an outgoing person. When he was first diagnosed he went from being the typical kid to being an adult in a child's body. He loves to play basketball and loves karate. He likes playing on his PlayStation 3. Just after getting diagnosed Robert got to meet Mark Mulder of the St Louis Cardinals. Robert's uncle bought him the ticket so that he could go to this event. After finding his cancer this was the first time he had smiled...he still says that it was one of the best days of his life. March 26, 2014 has made the 8th year of having Thyroid Cancer and he is still fighting the cancer. We knew from the beginning it would be a long road. Robert is still going strong and is going to be a senior next year in school. There are several people who deem him their hero!! He tells people he is not a hero....that is reserved for the men and women in the military who fight for our country and to keep us free!!! He is just a child who has to fight a horrible disease and is making the best of this. Not once has he let this get him down and he will be the first to tell you he is determined to beat cancer!!! Nothing has changed in his views of beating cancer however what he wants to do after high school has. When he is having a rough day he loves to write poetry and loves to draw. His poetry has been published several times.
