My Story

Kayleigh got diagnosed with leukemia ALL on May 8, 2026 after several months wondering what was wrong with her. Before her diagnosis, she was having fatigue, anemia, pain on her bones and hips, headaches and constipation. Primary doctor sent her to do blood work and gave us a referral to a hematologist. When we took her to the hematologist they sent her to do more blood work and everything came back normal, except low iron. Hematologist told us that she didn’t think is leukemia and to take her back in a month for a follow up, but to not bring her if she is sick. Three months pass and we couldn’t bring her back because she was sick. When we finally brought her back, due to protocol, she had more blood work done. In addition to leukemia, Kayleigh has Lyme disease, so doctor was thinking that the pain in her legs and hips can be related to that, so she sent her to do more bloodwork to refer her to a bone doctor. When that happened, something anormal showed on her bloodwork. Doctor couldn’t tell what it was so she sent her to have a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration. Test results came back with 67% of leukemia cells in her bone marrow. KAyleigh had been under treatment since then.
