My Story

Hunter was just a normal 5 year old boy getting ready to start Kindergarten. He started having intense leg pain and was constantly tired with no energy. He was taken to the pediatrician who sent us immediately to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. That night our whole world changed. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and was admitted to the ICU. He received over 5 rounds of blood transfusions and within days was starting High Risk Protocol chemotherapy. He was released from the hospital after a 8 day stay, and that’s when our new way of life began. Over the next 2 years he would incur multiple hospital stays for intense chemotherapy, followed by over 20 lumbar punctures procedures to inject chemo into his spine. In August 2025, he finally began the maintenance phase of treatment, which he is currently still completing. He will be starting 2nd grade co-op homeschool in September, and is getting to have more and more fun life experiences. Hunter will get to ring the cancer bell so soon!
