My Story

The bond I shared with my cousin was something truly special, and losing him at just 18 in June of 2010 changed my life forever. He wasn’t just family—he was a piece of my heart, and his absence is something I carry with me every day. Even through the loss, I’ve made it a priority to keep our families close and connected, just like he would have wanted. Becoming the godmother to his first niece is one of the most meaningful ways I honor him, knowing a part of him lives on through her. Every year, on his birthday and the anniversary of his passing, we come together to remember him, celebrate his life, and keep his memory alive. His presence may be gone, but the love we share for him continues to bring us together and guide us forward. I was asked to participate to shave heads for St. Baldricks, by my friend, Larissa McCabe, this Saturday @HVCC. I’ll be honoring her son, Ulrich Ulrichs Battle & my cousin Michael Coluccio. Both are angels in Heaven.
