My Story

Kiahaura “Rara” Mateo Salley’s story is one of incredible courage. Born in January 2025 with congenital heart disease and Down syndrome, she has already endured open-heart surgery and, most recently, a leukemia diagnosis at just seven months old. Through it all, Kiahaura continues to fight with a radiant spirit that inspires her family and community. By sharing her journey, we hope to raise awareness of childhood cancer and show the strength, resilience, and hope that children like Kiahaura embody every day.
