Alayna was diagnosed with Anaplastic Posterior Fossa Ependymoma with 6q chromosomal loss in September 2024. Which is a rare, aggressive and fast growing brain cancer. The chromosomal loss makes her cancer even more aggressive with 50% chance of returning. This makes her an ultra high risk. She was diagnosed at 3 years old and was in proton beam radiation treatment on her 4th birthday. She will turn 5 in November 2025. Alayna had to relearn everything since birth after her craniotomy to remove the largest mass that her surgeon has ever removed in the posterior fossa of the brain. To be so young, Alayna has truly touched the depths in her life. There was a time that we thought we would have to tell her goodbye and live the rest of our lives without her. She has an incredible big sister Ryleigh (13) that has been greatly impacted by her sisters diagnosis including the fear of losing her baby sister. With your help we can help other families walking this same dark road with a chance of hope and light. Thank you for supporting Alayna and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
