Kailey was just three when she was diagnosed . Her mother was noticing small bruising all over her body and made a call to their pediatrician thinking that Kailey was low on iron or something else. They had Kailey’s appointment scheduled for the very next day for a blood draw. Three hours after the blood draw we were called to immediately head to Children’s Hospital ER where we were told that our daughter had cancer. That she would be in treatment for 2 and a half years. Everything happened so fast and immediately after receiving the news she was put on the OR schedule to receive her central line, bone marrow aspiration and lumbar puncture with chemo. Within the matter of 3 hours everyone’s lives changed. It caused a lot of confusion for Kailey, but as well as her little brother Christopher so went for 4 days without seeing his parents or his sister.
