My Story

Kristen is nine years old and has been a cancer survivor since the age of 7. Kristen was diagnosed with an Osteo sarcoma on her left knee and lost her leg three months later. She also endured 10 long months of brutal chemo therapy. Only 90 days before being diagnosed with her cancer she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and wears an insulin pump 24 hours a day to sustain life. Today Kristen is a true survivor and an inspiration to us and many others as she faces many obstacles and does it with a smile most of the time. Kristen is a sweet natured and shy little girl. She is a very loving and thoughtful person. She loves to play with her twin sister Kelly, who also is a type 1 diabetic. She loves her best friend, Natalie. Kristen loves to ride roller coasters. She will almost never turn down riding one no matter how scary. She can't wait to grow two inches so she will be able to ride all coasters. Kristen loves going to Falcons Hockey games. We are looking forward to many years with her.
