My Story

Richie was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma in October of 2000, when he was nine years old. He relapsed for a third time in 2005 and died from the disease on Thanksgiving Day, 2006. He was 15 years old. During his six years of on again, off again treatment he maintained his faith and his optimism. He was a joy to be around and influenced those around him in a very positive way. While he is missed greatly by those closest to him, his constant faith, consideration for others and optimism serve to encourage us all. Richie was a guitarist in a local band and the worship team at his church. Music was a big part of his life and he continued to pursue it until the very end. He had a great love for serving the less fortunate and spent part of his last two summers on mission trips building homes for those in need. His sense of humor and sly grin could change anybody's mood for the better. Richie served as an example to live life to the full, pursue your dreams and never take a day for granted. He will forever be our "Rockstar". "The last show never ends."
