My Story

At 18-months old, Brigid presented symptoms of croup cough. Four days later, we were given diagnosis of T-cell lymphoma. As part of treatment, Brigid was on an experimental pharmaceutical pediatric cancer drug trial due to shock from typical chemo drug. She lost hair and appetite resulting in tube feeds for nutrition. She rang the bell in late September 2022. Labor Day weekend of 2023, Brigid began complaining of lower back pain. Mid September 2023, biopsy revealed mature B-cell leukemia (very rare in pediatric patients). At 5-years old, she had her second cancer diagnosis. Treatment is ongoing with 3+ months of living at Children’s Hospital. Brigid is in a current immunotherapy treatment to hopefully remain in remission.
