My Story

Our son was diagnosed with a Wilm's Tumor about a month before he turned five. His diagnosis and battle with cancer hit us like a semi-truck that we had never seen coming. We were going through a major renovation at the time and also were beginning a long road of health complication with our younger son simultaneously. As one can imagine, there was very little that could bring us any semblance of comfort during this time; but, knowing we had a team of brilliant medical professionals along with years of tried-and-true research and treatment on our side gave us the ability to look ahead and join our son in his fight. We received such an incredible amount of support and love from not only our friends and family, but complete strangers as well. Foundations like St. Baldrick's are at the heart of the mission to find a cure for cancer through life-saving research supported by volunteers and people inspired to give. Our son has now been in remission for 16 months and continues to thrive. When you look at him, you would never know what he has been through; but we can't ever forget his battle and we certainly will never forget all of the people who give their time, donations, and hard work to help our son and kids like him fight cancer.
