My Story

I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia 2 days before Christmas in 2015 at the age of 13. I faced countless side affects during my treatment including a severe blood clot in my right arm, pancreatitis, a fungal meningitis infection in my brain, steroid induced diabetes, appendicitis, and gaining 50 pounds on high dose steroids in less than 6 months. I finished treatment after a delay because of side affects on May 16th 2018. I’m now almost 22 years old and am facing chronic conditions because my nerves are messed up from the treatment. But as someone who gets excited about everything I try and find joy in life in between feeling sick. I’m grateful to be a survivor and advocate for these kids inspired by my journey
