My Story

Leilanie was diagnosed with Non- Hodgkins Lymphoma just 3 weeks shy of her 9th birthday, after experiencing concerning swelling in her face, neck and chest. The swelling was caused by a mass above her heart and a blood clot in her neck. She has undergone months of chemotherapy as well as radiation to fully eliminate the mass. A year later, the mass is gone and she has now entered the Maintenance Phase.

Leilanie has encountered physical as well as mental challenges along the way, like most children receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Some including neuropathy, foot drop, vision loss as well as anxiety and panic disorder.

Leilanie is determined, fierce and strong despite all she has faced this past year. She loves anime, singing, bracelet making, and has recently taken an interest in the piano and violin.
