My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Sept 2022: Elijah was sick. He had a cough and fever. He was taken to his doctor, the hospital, and urgent care and they all said he was fine and had bronchitis. We believed he had RSV and all 3 places denied that it was RSV season. Elijah was then taken to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where he was tested for RSV. It came back positive. Elijah had X-ray and a CT scan done of his chest to check for pneumonia. It came back that there seems to be a mass in his chest. He was admitted and got a biopsy done. He was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer and given the option of chemo or surgery. We chose surgery. Sept. 29, Elijah went in for surgery and the mass was removed. The mass was the size of a softball. Due to complications during surgery Elijah developed Horner’s Syndrome. Elijah then became Cancer Free. April 2023: We noticed a bump poking out of Elijah’s right shoulder. We took him to his oncologist and was told it’s his muscle. The oncologist said his muscle was damaged and needed to heal. Elijah got his 6 month CT scan and it came back Elijah’s cancer has returned. Elijah was admitted to the hospital and started chemo that night. Elijah is currently in chemo receiving 8 rounds of chemo.
