My Story

Yasin was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at the age of 22 months. We were on a trip to visit his aunt and she noticed a white reflection in his right eye, from that day forward life dramatically changed. The trip turned from fun to worry/sadness. Going back in our phones to check photos of him, it is now obvious that we can see the white reflection in his right eye. Yasin has completed five rounds of chemo and three Intravitreal chemotherapy injections. The doctors are hoping he only needs one more round of chemo and a couple of more injections then local therapies to finally be gone with this cancer. Yasin has been a trooper through this whole process, always a ball full of energy and made multiple friends at the hospital. From the weekly check ups to the weekend chemo sessions, to his monthly examination surgeries. As adults we are in awe of the resilience of Yasin.
