My name is Maxson - I'm 14 years old and in the 8th grade. I'm from Louisville, KY and I **LOVE** baseball, snow skiing with my Dad, playing video games with my friends, watching college sports and hanging with my family and friends. I am a huge fan of the Louisville Cardinals, the LA Dodgers, the Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Ravens! I learned I had a brain tumor after I went to the eye doctor for a routine eye exam thinking I needed glasses. The next day I had an MRI and the following morning, I was in brain surgery. Crazy ride.
Since September of 2023, I've been receiving treatment at Cincinnati Children's and they're taking great care of me. My favorite baseball team is the LA Dodgers, and I got to see them in the World Series last year as part of my wish trip with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My favorite baseball player is Will Smith, the starting catcher for the Dodgers. He's a catcher just like me.
I'm looking forward to life returning to a bit more normal, and hopefully soon. I finished chemotherapy in June 2024 and rang the bell, but I sustained a spinal cord injury from radiation and am still dealing with the effects of that injury. Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with St. Baldrick's, you're supporting research to give me and other kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Thank you from #TeamMax for all your support!
