My Story

Lucas was diagnosed with Pleuropulmonary Blastoma. He was quite lucky because he was diagnosed with the 'regressive' form of the disease. It is a rare form of lung cancer that they are still finding out about, so we go back every 3 months for check ups and to make sure everything is okay. Lucas is a happy, smiling child. He loves to play outside, swim in the pool and play in the treehouse. He loves anything with superheroes or dinosaurs. He frequently pretends to be a T-Rex and roars at the world and his little brother! He has been a trooper in dealing with his disease and always responded to the doctors with "Okey dokey artichokey"! The only thing he hates is getting his 'blood taken' (an IV) and he wants to say a bad word so he just repeats 'stupid' over and over again! Even through all the pain, he still carried on smiling and giving people hugs.
