My Story

Katie was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM) April 26, 2011 at 16 years old. Doctors found a large mass in her right parietal lobe after several weeks of severe headaches. She had a successfull craniotomy to completely remove her tumor. She then completed 6 weeks of radiation and 2 years of chemotherapy. Since her diagnosis Katie has won a state championship with her high school softball team, graduated and is attending college and playing softball on scholarship. Because of her experiences she decided to major in radiology in hopes of becoming a radiology tech and helping people in her situation.
