My Story

Madelyn "Maddy" Claire Pitman fought a long hard battle against Infant Leukemia. On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, she WON the war when she received her Heavenly healing in the arms of Jesus. Although Maddy battled leukemia for almost her entire 2.5 years of life, that is not what she will be remembered for. Maddy will forever be remembered by her family, friends, caregivers, and even strangers that were never able to meet her, by her infectious, joyful smile. Maddy was pure sunshine. It was impossible to feel anything but genuine joy when in her presence. Maddy's favorite things that tended to make her smile even bigger and brighter were her big sister, Emma Kate, Blues Clues, her mommy's snuggles and songs, her daddy's teasing and tickles, her grandparents' cuddles and love, being outside, riding in her car, swinging, dancing and eating a "pop-pop". Maddy will be deeply missed by so many. She was a true Angel that walked (or in her case crawled) amongst us. Our lives are forever changed for the better because of her. She taught us all about God, faith, hope, strength, patience, compassion, love, and how to find pure joy in each and every day.
