My Story

Brody was a smart and loving little boy. He faced his treatment with bravery and courage that no child should ever need - his little body succumbed to the disease in 2015 at the tender age of 3. Brody loved life. His favorite things were blueberry picking and Curious George. I still remember his last birthday the entire community came together and had a Curious George-themed birthday. We had to have cotton candy because he adored it. He knew it was for him and he felt so special on that day. He knew it was for him. His knee disarticulation, and amputation, never put a stop to his zest and love for life. The pain he felt following the amputation was unimaginable. The only relief he had was through nerve blockers. Once he learned to walk again on a prosthetic he again began his short and happy journey through life. The lessons and legacy of Brody will live forever in all those touched by childhood cancer. Cancer will never win despite Brody's passing because the positive memories will always be bolder than the ones involving cancer; Brody made sure of it!
