My Story

Hello, my name is Lauren Estrada. Over the weekend my 4 year old nephew Alejandro (aka Alex) was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He also has a tumor next to his kidney. Within the last month my brother Vince, has taken Alex to the doctors and hospitals. Alex has been complaining that his legs hurt him. It went from a limp, to crawling, to it hurt to walk. His temp would randomly spike to 102 degrees in a mater of minutes. After weeks of X-rays and unexplained answer they finally did blood tests. The white blood count was normal, but other cells were off the charts. Originally, doctors believed Alex to have Leukemia. Bone marrow samples and more blood work was done. The longest wait of our lives. Since friday we have been in the hospital with unexplained questions. Finally, Sunday morning; Stage 4 Neuroblastoma and a tumor. Alex has had 1 blood transfer. Has had a Picc line put in his chest. 2 bone marrow samples taken. And countless amount of blood tests done all within one weekend. He doesn't understand why he is in the hospital or why all the doctors and nurses keep hurting him. He understands that he is sick and needs to get better. Alex will need 5 treatments of Chemo, and possibly a surgery to remove whats left of the tumor. Alex is a very outgoing and amazing little boy. He loves to get dirty and play with other kids. It hurts when he moves any part of his body, but as soon as he sees another child his eyes light up and wants to play.  I have created a Go Fund me account for Alex! Alex's Father; Vincent is Single father. He took some time off work when Alex was diagnosed then reduce his work hours to part time to tend to and care for his son's needs. With being out of work and  working limited hours, financial funds are very tight. Please help my brother and Alex with medical expenses, clothes, bills and other expenses! Every dollar counts and goes directly for Alex! Www.gofundme.com/fz529wdg
