My Story

This is Niall. This is how he looks a few months before his 13th birthday. As usual, he is smiling and happy. He is creating happy memories with his family to last a lifetime while on vacation. Everyone that has met Niall knows he loves sports, especially the NY Yankees, having fun with friends and family, and enjoying the simple pleasures in life like playing video games, riding his bike, and eating chocolate covered strawberries.

What you don't see is the rare and aggressive cancer he was diagnosed with when he was 10 and half years old. Its called an Epitheliod Sarcoma and there is no cure. During Niall's journey with cancer, he stoically endured many types of experimental treatment. He moved forward each time the cancer did not respond to treatment. His relentless motivation, immeasurable courage, combined with his gentle soul, was the source of stregnth for his family and countless people whose lives he touched. He never complained, blamed, or looked for excuses. Niall just fought cancer.

On January 11, 2012, at the age of 13, Niall's 3 year battle with cancer ended.
Niall will be remembered for the heroic he way lived his life, his beautiful attributes that went well beyond his age in years, and will continue to be an inspiration for those fortunate enough to know him and for those who wish they did. Niall continues to live in our hearts and homes.

Sorely missed, fondly remembered, an angel forever. XO
