My Story

Naima (Nah-ee-ma) was diagnosed with a rhabdoid tumor during Christmas time in 2012 when she was only 2 and a half years old. Her parents have shared her journey with family and friends via Facebook and we all have embraced the entire family as a whole. The love, patience and grace emitted by this beautiful family while watching their only child go through this battle has been a blessing to many around them who were struggling through battles of their own. Today, 6 year old Naima is cancer free and is enjoying the small things in life such as being selected as student of the month at her school and getting visits from the tooth fairy. Although she was very young when she was diagnosed, she continues to be a true Ambassador, continually sharing her kindness with those she feels may need it, continuing to help raise childhood cancer awareness and participating in various fund raising events. Her love for others and zest for life has been a huge inspiration not only to her family but to everyone she meets. Here are a couple articles which highlight a bit of Naima's involvement with cancer awareness and funding events. http://abc30.com/health/kids-day-ambassador-celebrates-milestones-thanks-to-valley-childrens/1235646/ http://www.fresnobee.com/news/local/article66542932.html "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten - Valley Children's Hospital: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEP1Y9rD5ug
