My Story

My nephew Lane is a vivacious, extremely smart nine year old. He knows German and English because his Mom, being German, speaks to him in German and his Dad (who is in the U.S. military) speaks to him in English. It is always fun to hear him speak in both languages. He has three older sisters that live here in the U.S. and a whole slew of cousins, uncles, aunts and grandma who loves him dearly. Lane is an avid soccer fan who before being diagnosed played on his own teams. It has been said that he loves soccer so much that he could be found sleeping in his soccer jersey. Lane also like to play games and reads all the time. He likes the Harry Potter series so much that he got aggravated with a teacher who would not allow him to read the next book because she thought he couldn't! His parents have read to him every night since he was born. Currently, he is being home schooled by his Dad while he is receiving treatments. He takes that all in stride.
