My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.

Holly’s journey is complex to say the least.

It all started as a typical ear ache in Nov 2018.  After many courses of antibiotics with no improvement she had a ultrasound and then a cat scan which saw a tumor in her cheek.  She was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in December 2018. Went thru 28 sessions of proton radiation and 42 weeks of chemo.   She rung the bell in October 2019 and has been in remission ever since.   Sadly after chemo and radiation her blood never recovered and became transfusion dependent. She was getting blood transfusions every 3 weeks.  After 3 years with no improvement it was decided she would have a bone marrow transplant. Luckily she is an identical twin :).  So 6/21/22 Haley donated her stem cells  for Holly.   Her transplant sadly didn’t fix the problem.  So she continued to be transfusion dependent. We started some new medicine and 6 months later 6/28/23 she had her last blood transfusion.   Hollys blood “woke up” and is currently doing amazing!  .
