My Story

Beydn was the kid who flopped around on roller skates, wrestled with his brothers, and loved root beer floats. He loved Star Wars, dinosaurs, and riding his bike. He read constantly and it was hard to get him to put a book down. Beydn was a fan of the Braves, Panthers and Duke football. He loved visiting North Carolina and playing in the water. As the oldest kid in a military family, he lived a lot of places but loved North Carolina the most. Beydn, who was always active and healthy, suddenly went through a period where he didn’t want to get out of bed or eat. On November 3, 2013 his family found out why when Beydn was diagnosed with t-cell acute lymphocyctic leukemia (ALL). He went into remission and had clear scans, but the chemotherapy used to treat his cancer lowered Beydn’s immune response. He got two invasive fungal infections his body couldn’t fight off, and tragically, on February 22, 2014 Beydn passed away. He was only 10 years old.
