My Story

A few months ago, a very special little girl named Carol Lynn, or CBug as she’s known by many, came bouncing through the aisle of an event I was at, laughing and smiling as she ran up to pet one of my dogs, Nanook. I knew from this moment that her spunk and zest for life was contagious. I was told CBug was battling Rhabdomyosarcoma, which absolutely broke my heart. Cancer is a terrible thing that no child should have to endure and CBug fought with all her might before passing away on December 31, 2016, only weeks before her third birthday. It’s amazing how much you can learn from someone in only a few short months, but CBug taught me to never take a single day for granted and live life to the fullest. I will never understand why CBug was chosen to leave this world at such a young age, but I find comfort in knowing she’s smiling over us all now. I’ve chosen to participate in St. Baldrick to honor her – here’s to you, CBug! We are now and always will be #CBUGSTRONG
