Cancer wasn't something I knew a lot about or even wanted to talk about. That is until my hometown of Clyde, Ohio was considered a cancer cluster. Now with a family of my own, I find childhood cancer to be extremely worrisome and under-funded. I decided to start a fundraiser for St. Baldrick's and shaving my head didn't seem like enough considering I normally shave my head every two weeks. For this fundraiser I will go one year without cutting my hair in hopes that my family, friends and strangers will pledge to this great cause for me. It will begin on my 31st birthday and an event has been organized and I will be shaving my head on May 9, 2015.
The fundraiser will be two parts. Part one will end on December 31, 2014 with all the donations counted from this year. Then, January 1, 2015 donations will be accepted for me to cut my hair on May 9, 2015.
