“You Don’t Have to Be a Lifeguard to Save a Child”

We helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

"You Don't Have to Be a Lifeguard to Save a Child"

Our grandson Benjamin was a healthy, thriving baby and young toddler with no unplanned doctor visits in his two years of life. However, while traveling here in September 2021, Benjamin began appearing progressively paler and had painful bruising, along with red spots under his skin. Far from home, he was rushed to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where he was diagnosed with pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was hospitalized and began a month of chemotherapy at CHOP before returning home and resuming treatment at Ochsner Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Today Benjamin is on the road to recovery. We look forward to completing his treatment and a lifetime free of medical complications. He started pre-school, plays with his neighborhood friends, and takes walks with Liza, his Labrador. This could not be possible without you!

Donations support promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
