We helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

As many of you know, 2013 would have been my 7th year supporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation by shaving my head.  Unfortunately our local RVC event conflicted with our Spring Break and I was  spending some much needed time in Disney World with my family. So instead, I decided to raise money by doing a Half-IronMan Triathlon.  What most of you probably don't know is that in 2009 I signed up for my first Half Ironman ~ Santa got me a new bike and I knew I would be ready by May. About three weeks later Kendall was diagnosed with cancer and our lives were forever changed.  You can read all the details here kendallrocks.  Needless to say, I did not ever get to do that race.  But after everything we have been through I'm finally doing this race.  Now that it is only a week away I really wish I was shaving my head!  But... if I can raise some much-needed monies for this amazing organization it will definitely be worth it.  So please ~ support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation and know that your contribution will help fund the research grants that will become tomorrow's cures.  This is childhood cancer awareness month too, so it's a great time to show some support.  Thanks for taking the time to read this & please think of me on 9/29/13 as I run, bike & swim for the kids!
