Changing it up this year. First, there is no Parish Center event. The Rockville Centre event is now a Do-Where-You-Want/Do-What-You-Want Fundraising event throughout the month of March. Shave your head, chop your ponytail (8" or more), have a bake sale, do some push-ups, run some miles AND fundraise for St. Baldrick's to raise money for research, clinical trials, and improved treatments for all types of pediatric cancers. Please note we won't be holding our usual in-person community event this year. No Parish Center event this year. This is a shave, chop, fundraise anywhere you want event but the goal remains the same--raising funds for child cancer research.
Please sign up as a fundraiser and shave your head, chop your ponytail, donate or raise money another creative way for this life-saving cause. All welcome to join in this month-long challenge and sign up. Although the RVC Event will no longer be at the Parish Center like it has been for over 20 years, now you can shave your head or chop your ponytail anywhere you like. Sign up on this page and go to your favorite salon or barber shop and shave OR register with another NY event and shave there. The 3/13 Killarney Rose in NYC, or the 3/20 J.W. Dodd Middle School in Freeport, or the 5/3 Trinty Bar & Restaurant in Floral Park invites any of our past shavees to register and shave at their events. I'll also provide info here for St. Baldrick's-friendly barber shops and salons in RVC where they will have some St Baldrick's barber smocks and items perfect for photo ops for your shave. You can also contact me to receive your own barber capes & this year's tshirts to bring to your preferred salon. If you want someone there to video or cheer you on for your shave, contact me and I will come to you. I'll have the 2025 shavee t-shirts and lapel pins for any fundraising participant. Contact me at benderalanna@gmail.com for questions, info, &/or supplies. I'll miss seeing you all so much. It's felt like a yearly family reuinion all these past years, but togther we can still help and support this crucial cause that helps save young lives. I'll try to post more info and provide updates on the RVC St. Baldrick's facebook page as well. Thanks for all your past and present support! St. Baldrick's continues to do amaxing work in the pediatric cancer research world and it's more important than ever to keep supporting them. Read about St. Baldrick's research grants, clinical trials and treatments they are funding with your donations on their website, stbaldricks.org.
