For those of you who plan on attending...we look forward to seeing you there. For those of you who cannot attend...please consider making a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. In particular, our event will be in honor of a 6 year old little boy from Massapequa. Thank you for your support!
6 yr. old COLIN CONATY, a native Massapequan & student and Parishioner at St. William the Abbot, Seaford, along with his dad, mom & 4 older siblings, are our honored guests at the event. Colin’s journey began in February, 2007 when he was diagnosed with an ependymoma. That moment, one brief moment, thrust an ordinary family’s life into an unimaginable new way of life. One surgery was followed by countless MRI’s, CAT scans, blood tests, chemotherapy, x-rays, stem cell harvests, & seven more surgeries. In May, Colin’s tumor was removed. Surgery was followed by eight weeks of daily radiation. Colin has a permanent shunt & undergoes “routine” MRI’s. At this time he is doing well – runs, jumps, reads, & enjoys life! The Conaty family knows things could have been different & for many families they are. They know too many little angels that have gotten their wings too soon. They feel they have been blessed & are grateful. Colin’s 6 yr. old joy & wonder consumes him & touches others. They breathe in his essence everyday & rejoice in God’s goodness & grace. They hope Colin’s story gives others courage & hope to live & love each day in all ways!
This is why we do what we do!
