Why am I donating my hair at this St. Baldrick's event? It’s because I am willing to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer who typically lose their hair during treatment. My hair will be used to make wigs for these kids, so that they may have one less thing to worry about as they fight. Most importantly, I’m doing it to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research!
On a personal level, I have been motivated to do more by former neighbours and the incredible strength that I witnessed as they've addressed their daughter's diagnosis with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2012. At 2 years old, Charli Bishop (and her parents Carly and Andrew Bishop) took their battle head on with the resiliency and power equal to a military tactical mission. It has been a truly inspirational story of unwavering determination, love and gratitude. To become a member of “Charli’s Angels” and to follow Charli’s progress, lease join the “Prayers for Charli Bishop” Facebook Page.
Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We're proud to be doing our part to give kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Please join me!
