Why am I Carly Pinkerton shaving my head at this St. Baldrick's event? Because I am willing to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, who typically lose their hair during treatment. I want kids who lose their hair to cancer to know being bald is beautiful. More importantly, I'm doing it to raise funds for childhood cancer research!Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and by me fundraising it will hopefully decrease the number of children we lose, one by one. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. I'm proud to be doing my part to give kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
