When Edward rang the proverbial bell after his cancer treatment, many of his friends shaved their heads in his honor. Prior to Edward's first chemo treatment, my sister shaved her head in solidarity with Edward. Although Edward has passed from this life, he remains a presence with me every day and not a day goes by that I do not miss him and wish to be with him! I did not shave my head when he underwent treatment, or after his treatment, but I will shave my head on 14 June 2025 as my ongoing commitment to him to never stop fighting this disease - it will be my covenant!
I am also hoping, since it will mark the 4 years from his high school graduation and after many of his dear friends have graduated from college, that they will pay "handsomely" (as a first-year graduate might), to watch or help shave my head. Some of you may even be willing to participate, and some of your friends may pay to see YOUR head shaved! I know that Edward's memory will never die because it lives on in so many of us and we all know that he would want to give the next kid diagnosed with osteosarcoma a better chance at life.
The donation you provide here goes directly to funding research for osteosarcoma.
Please also know, you do not have to come to the event to donate here!
The event will take place at the home of Ed and Avril at 2201 W Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030. Please arrive anywhere between 5 - 8 pm for barber services. Avri's head will be shaved at 6:30 pm for those who want to witness or participate. Food, beverage and barber services will be provided.
