46 Mommas Bald Bash at BOW - Barrel Oak Winery

SEE SOME OF OUR FEATURED EVENT ACTIVITIES BELOW!!! On September 7, 2010, "46 Mommas" shaved their heads in solidarity with their children. Comprised of 46 women from across the U.S. who have been touched by childhood cancer, the Mommas gathered together in unity to represent the frightening reality that every weekday in the United States 46 parents are told “your child has cancer.” The Mommas chose to get bald during September in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. "46 Mommas Shave for the Brave" has become a nationwide campaign, and the Bald Bash is an extension of that campaign. Please help us reach our campaign goal of $1 million! “We are thrilled that the 46 Mommas are coming to Los Angeles, where they will brave a shave in honor of all children and their families who have and will battle cancer,” says Kathleen Ruddy, executive director for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. “All of us at St. Baldrick’s are honored and excited that these amazing women, from all walks of life, have joined us to ensure a total cure is available for every infant, child, teen and young adult with cancer.” The 46 Mommas, organized by Tiffany Beamer whose daughter Miranda was diagnosed with cancer in September 2007, have two goals. The first is to raise awareness by shaving their heads, something which has never been done on this scale by women. The second is to raise at least $1 million for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The 46 Mommas captured the attention of ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ organizers who featured the group on the nationwide, multi-network live broadcast on Sept. 10. Come out on the 20th to meet some of the 46 Mommas ... with varying amounts of regrowth! Watch some others go bald! Feel like maybe you'd like to shave your head, in solidarity with children all over the world suffering from cancer? Now's your chance! You heard it here first!
