Aiden has been inspired by an older boy in his school, Liam, who shaved his head to raise money for cancer research because he has a cousin with cancer. Aiden has been praying every night for a little boy named Luke who is fighting Leukemia. Luke and his family are friends of our family who we got to know mostly through church. Luke is only one year younger than Aiden. When Aiden saw his schoolmate, Liam help his cousin by shaving his head, Aiden became very determined to do the same to help Luke. Through Childhood Cancer Canada, we have been set up with this St. Baldrick's event page and are excited to start fund-raising in support of families who are dealing with one of the hardest things. Luke and his family are inspiring in their faith and perseverance. We love them and hold them up in prayer everyday. Luke has gone through his first year of intensive treatment and is now undergoing maintenance treatment for the next two years. By the sound of it, maintenance is not much easier! Luke has lost and regrown his hair, but Aiden understands that shaving his head is a way of supporting Luke and what he and many other children are going through. These funds are being raised for childhood cancer research!Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations like Childhood Cancer Canada and others around the world to fund childhood cancer research. To get a glimpse of what it is like for Luke and his family, please watch the beautiful video made by his mom, Sarada. As Aiden's parents, we are so proud to be supporting him in his desire to give kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Aiden will be having his head shaved at St. Mary School in Chesterville during the school's end of year fun-day on June 24th, 2013. Please donate to our event by clicking "Make a Donation" above. You may also give by mail or phone. Thank you for your support!
