Event Details

The Westbrook Police Department is partnering with St. Baldrick's Foundation for Childhood Cancer to host our first ever Brave the Shave fundraising event being held in Riverbank Park on Saturday July 22, 2017.   The Brave the Shave Event is in support of, and to raise funds for, the St. Baldrick's Foundation for Childhood Cancer.  All money raised will go toward funding research, in hopes to find the cure for childhood cancer so no one has to hear there is no treatment to help their child.   On the day of the event, police officers and their families from around the state of Maine will gather at Riverbank Park to Brave the Shave; banding together and shaving their heads and/or beards in solidarity with kids who typically lose their hair during cancer treatments.   Community members and businesses are welcome to donate money prior to, and during, the head shaving event.  The event will be open to the community and we welcome everyone to stop by.  Please, join our Westbrook Police Officers, their fellow officers, and families from across the state, to support the fighters, admire the survivors, honor the taken, and never give up hope!  The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
