The Saratoga Springs Fire hockey team hosts the Worcester Firefighters hockey team on March 16 at the Weibel Ice in Saratoga Springs, all to raise money to help in the fight against childhood cancer. The Saratoga Springs Fire hockey team has partnered with the Saratoga City Tavern and King's Tavern to continue a St. Baldrick's tradition that has been occurring for the last 18 years. Doors open at 10am with puck drop scheduled for 11am. After the game everyone is invited to King's Tavern, located at 241 Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs to celebrate a successful day of fundraising and to start St. Patrick's Day off right with friends!
Admission to the game will be a donation collected at the door.
The Saratoga Springs Fire hockey team will be hanging up their tradition red and white sweaters and instead wearing St. Patrick's Day theme jerseys. All jerseys worn will be apart of a silent auction in which all money raised will go to the overall fundraising efforts.
And to continue with the tradition that was started at the Saratoga City Tavern, we will be having volunteers get their heads shaved to raise additional money for the overall donation.
