All are welcome to participate and support this annual family-friendly event. Activities will include shavees shaving their heads for charity, fire engine to explore, enjoying a delicious bite to eat and – most importantly – raising funds for childhood cancer research. The Krafty’s Burgers and Brews St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser will take place Saturday, March 24 starting at 3:00 pm, at 1177 Timber Drive East in Garner, NC. They are located in the White Oak Shopping Center, providing ample free parking in front and behind the venue.
Why all the shaved heads?
Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and it remains the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States. With only four percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, The St. Baldrick’s Foundation grant
funds are critical to continue the battle against childhood cancer.
We continue to honor Eve Griffith, age 10, as our Honored Kid. Eve was diagnosed at age two with Wilms tumor, a type of pediatric kidney cancer that is often fatal, and treated at Duke’s pediatric hematology-oncology unit. She currently has no evidence of the disease.
